Finding Your Dream Tribe

  • Kay Urlich

Sara Blakely had a vision.

And Sara demonstrated how visions are not random, they are energy we can bring to life in your body, mind, and spirit.

To understand how this works and understand yourself better too, tick (the image below), to find which part of you collects your dreams and visions...

...and then, to bring your dreams to fruition, ask which parts of the energy field structure you need to activate to bring your vision to physical reality; the energy that would

  1. nourish your dream
  2. expand and build on those visions

Once upon a time a little girl named Amy sent a bottle of colored water, oil, and glitter to Roald Dahl. Another day, another time a young woman called Sara stepped into her underwear and an inspirational idea dropped into her mind. At that moment she also understood how to develop a new business and took the action required to bring her dream to life.

It’s alright for them you might say – but what about me where do I go with my thoughts? Like Amy and Sara, what do you do with a stimulating idea that appears to you? Being a dreamer is seen mostly as a senseless thing to be. At school, many children are mocked as report cards are sent home complaining that Tommy, Maria, or Mohammed were daydreaming. What were they dreaming about teachers could ask? Instead, children are told to wake up and work harder by people who worry their child will fail to be ready for working life.

But, don't despair, the visionaries are out there. Roald Dahl understood Amy’s message and penned this short note.

Dear Amy,

I must write a special letter and thank you for the dream in the bottle. You are the first person in the world who has sent me one of these and it intrigued me very much. I also liked the dream. Tonight I shall go down to the village and blow it through the bedroom window of some sleeping child and see if it works.

With love from, Roald Dahl.

Roald Dahl spent his life planting dreams. Amy’s whimsical message was turned into a book called The BFG. Like Sara Blakely, Roald Dahl knew that a dream needed to ‘ground itself’ or it would scatter adrift, without a place to sustain it; like a spirit floating on the ethers it must find a nourishing garden for the flower to bloom.

Science too has its dreamers. For instance, Greek mathematician and engineer Archimedes, had been searching desperately to understand ‘what is volume’? One day, while soaking in the bath his mind adrift, it dawned on him that his body had replaced the water: this, he discovered, was ‘volume’. He realized the substance of his body had replaced the substance of water. The answer had downloaded by itself into the clear space in his mind and he is famous for having shouted "Eureka, I have found it" he shared this insight and found support within the scientific world.

Next time you meditate, plant a seed or sink into the bath and feel the volume of water rise around you or read the BFG or step into your Spanx underwear know they hold power that is born from the mystical, universal mind-space.

Back in this physical world, whether you dream big or small about business, books, or science, to grow your seed like Amy, Sara, and Archimedes, it matters that you find your dream tribe those people who speak your language, not just for financial gain but to inspire the journey you are on toward a fulfilling, and expansive life.
